Definitions:
Attempted Hours: Includes all units passed, failed, withdrawn and incomplete grades.
Earned Hours: Total cumulative passed units, (A, B, C, D, and CR).
GPA Hours: Total cumulative attempted units, both passed and failed (does not include CR, NC, Incomplete, W or RD) grades.
Quality Points: Total points earned. (A=4 points, B=3 points, C=2 points, D=1 point and F=0 point).
Grade Point Average (GPA): Total Quality Points divided by Total GPA Hours.
Example:
ANAT 25 (4 units) "A" grade earns 16 points
MATH 840 (3 units) "B" grade earns 9 points
CIS 164 (2 units) "C" grade earns 4 points
PE 559 (1 unit) "D" grade earns 1 point
MUS 41 (1 unit) "F" grade earns 0 point
Total: 11 units earns 30 points
(30 points divided by 11 units = 2.72 GPA)
